A faithful reproduction of a rudis found at Carlisle fort. Made of oak wood, just like the original one, and replicating all its measurements, weight and characteristics.

Slat loom for weaving woolen belts made of beech and oak wood (shaft). Assembled with beech pegs and glued with a mixture of bone and hide glue. Oiled with cold pressed linseed oil.

Measurements: 55mm wide and 2mm thick. Holes for the thread of 6mm.

 

Shuttle made of oak wood.

Measures: 24cm on its long side, 4,5cm wide. Hole for the thread of 22mm of diameter.

Made from a solid block of beech and oiled with linseed oil. Square base with round central section. Measurements inferred from one of the originals.
